Two minutes silence

Lest we forget in the bustle of our lives
The ones who laid down theirs so that we may survive
To chatter on the telephone, the internet and twitter
Safe in the knowledge that however bitter
The words we speak
However sweet or even bleak
We can say them freely without censure, without fear
I think then a little silence; two minutes in each year
Is nothing but their due
For those who died for me and those who dies for you

Hear hear! You have put that so well!As a mum of boys wars & soldiers dying always makes me twinge. I know woman are involved too,it's just that I think of the mums that lost their boys,if I had been born earlier that could so easily have been me.
I think the least we can do is give 2mins silence & *never* forget

Jess - I have two army mad boys and twitch a bit too. I am also an Army brat so Armistice Day always holds special meaning.

Go on you know you want to...
