Tattie Whippet: trying to get some sleep |
She's not naughty like the EBJ (Evil Black Job) aka Sassy aka The Wickedest Whippet; she doesn't steal...much, she just loves me and has to be near me. I cannot go anywhere without her knowing. She even gets in the car, which she loathes, to be with me. She usually vomits quietly by the side of the seat so I won't notice while I am driving. She's considerate like that...
She trained with me for the Flora London Marathon in 2009 running beside me never too fast, never lagging behind. She came out in rain and sleet and snow and hail. She wasn't much impressed but when I was having a seriously hard time around Mile 15 I saw her in my minds eye plugging away just ahead and it helped me to keep going when I longed to stop.
I hate to admit it but I sleep with her too. We curl up together to keep warm on winter nights and try to push each other off the bed during the summer months. If I manage to win she jumps back on the bed and just stares at me until I wake up - it is very disconcerting to know that you have been woken up by a dog just staring at you in the middle of the night.
During the day she sleeps in my office keeping an eye on things and making sure I stay where I ought. She does not like sharing her basket with Sassy but for me will put up with it.
I am hers and she is mine forever.
She also likes curling up in the laundry...

Yes, we don't have pets and I miss that unconditional love thing. She looks wonderful. We had some dogs at a dinner party on Sat night and I learned about all the diff between Greyhounds and whippets, very ancient and revered dogs both
About Last Weekend - did they also say what dreadful theives they were? Sassy just stole my supper!!!!
I miss my dog! When I was made redundant, and had to take a job that meant I was out of the house for 13 hours a day, I asked my mum and stepdad to look after him.
He loves it there. He spends his days at their allotment, where he is free to roam and play with the dog in the adjacent allotment, and his nights snuggled up in the warmest house in Britain (my mum doesn't do cold!).
I don't think my mother would let me have him back now but, more importantly, I'm not sure that he would want to.
Spencer Park - Oh it is painful to have to leave your dog. I had to do that with one of mine many years ago when I accepted a job in London. Megan stayed with my parents as I knew it was just not right to have her with me. You've done the right thing!
Quite the amazing dog. Not at all like Sassy. She may be a thief, but she has manners! And she sounds so lovable.
I had to part with my Poodle (a Standard) this spring. (She is a not-at-all-evil black cutie.) Can't have pets in this apartment block, we were told. She's having a delightful time out on an acreage, just north of the city, with her new sister and brother. But I still miss her!
Rob-bear - i miss hearing about Miss Sadie too. Good to hear she is enjoying herself. I know you must miss like mad. Big hugs!
She's beautiful! I couldn't live without my little old lady Tara. She is now too old and lazy to follow me everywhere though. Tyson has taken her place with that job, and she's content to sleep and let him get on with it.

Sweet looking doggie you have there...
Much to the dismay of my children, we don't have a dog...or any pets for that matter.
Years ago,I clubbed together with my running club to co-own a Greyhound which I think only won 2 races...back in the '80's!
My Mum has a whippet and he has adopted us as well, however only has eyes for her. However when it comes to sleeping he will more than happily take up all my bed space!! I guess they are all the same!! ;)
I was looking to contact you about trialing out products if it is of interest to you, then saw this post and felt oblidged to comment!!
Can you please contact me?
Do you think she's your karmic reward for having the EBJ?!
Resewn Sally - tattie's inn bed with me now keeping me warm. I couldn't be without her, silly I know. She doesn't get about too much, a bit like your Tara, but the bed is all hers!
Sugarplum Kawaii - it must have been so exciting with the greyhound! Used to love going to the dogs when I lived in London!
Louise - yep sounds like a proper whippet! I did try contacting you but failed. Try contacting me through twitter @tattieweasle!
Abi - the gods move in mysterious ways for if I had had the EBJ first I don't think I'd ever have had another dog let alone whippet in the house!
