Tomorrow and tomorrow

Some days were never meant to start; these are the days when nothing happens. You mean for something to happen for things to get done but they sort of don’t. While you are not watching all your good intentions stream out the door like the mist that pours downhill at daybreak in Devon. Beautiful to watch and impossible to stop.
So in a zombie like state the day begins and begins and begins until before you know it its lunchtime and all the morning has been frittered.
So you start yet again, a false start: then the phone rings, the newspaper beckons, the builders need tea, there’s a delivery, e-mails to answer, a sudoku to complete, and so the pots and pans languish in congealing water, the damp washing festers in a corner, and a miasma of frit flies hover over the empty wine glass beside the computer. The clean laundry drifts in piles waiting for collection, the clothes from the holiday remain tightly packed, the tent remains in the dining room table and I, well I just write about it all and remind myself that tomorrow is another day…

It wasn't a particularly good piece of writing or well researched, obviously. Shame she hadn't had the talent of the bloggers she maligned. Hopefully for Muddyboots it will act as a plug for her business. Glad to see you and Blossom fighting back but damn unfair that Suffolkmum has had to remove her pics. I would not have been at all happy having my blog brought into the public domain in such a way. Was there any need to use real bloggers names like that without their permission. Horrid woman.

Had to do a quick head swivel to make sure you were not sitting beside me this morning !! Loved your fruit comments, they did make me slightly wistful.

Are you looking at my house?
A perfect description of a normal day here, except I'm far too dull to cope with sudoku.
The only extra bit I'll add is scratching my pigs tummies half way through the day to de-stress!

Eloquent blogs as usual! I came over to see what you thought about the Times article. It makes my blood boil to think that such a cheap bit of journalism could upset so many. Silly woman (Ms Muir that is).
I know what you mean about some days never being meant to start. Today is one of those days too! I've been trying to go to the shop for milk since 9am. It's now 4pm. Oh well!

A lot of my days are uncannily like the ones you describe.

Rigby & Peller, eh? I'm impressed! I'm afraid all my underwear is grey and well past its prime (not unlike its owner!) Yes, that was a cheap and nasty bit of journalism - hope it didn't upset you unduly.

Liked the rant below! My house looked like that last week...this week its back to work so some routine has sprung back...thank god before we all disappeared never to be seen again under an ironing pile that is about to get noticed by English Heritage

Oh I hope you're having a more productive day - I don't seem to have had many either lately - I do start full of good intentions but find at midday I'm still making lists.

oh the shock of recognition! I have days just like this where the time slides away with nothing done and the making of lists is itself too onerous. (also have mad achieving days where if you get in my way I will weed or iron you). It's the same at work, some days i am the queen of efficiency and others trying to surf the net surreptitiously, drinking tea and going far too frequently to the loo for a change of scene.
